The Australian small-ship expedition line's Douglas Mawson and Sylvia Earle will welcome agents in Portsmouth, Lisbon and Reykjavik while an additional 45 travel agents set to join AE voyages in the polar regions.
The ship visit programmes includes a lunchtime event in Portsmouth on 4 June; an overnight experience in Reykjavik on 19 September and another overnight experience in Lisbon on 13 June.
Andrew Turner, AE Expeditions’ EMEA sales director, said giving agents the opportunity to experience the brand first-hand was central to the line's trade engagement strategy.
“As we celebrate 35 years of expedition travel, inviting agents onboard is an important way to share our heritage, our ships and our approach to exploration with the partners who help bring these experiences to travellers," Turner said.
"Expedition travel is best understood by experiencing it – from meeting the expedition team to seeing how our ships operate in destination, these visits give agents a true understanding of the experience they are recommending to their clients."
He added: “Douglas Mawson represents the next chapter for AE Expeditions, and we’re thrilled to introduce her to the UK trade community.”
