MSC Cruises has revealed MSC Meraviglia will sail from Southampton in 2027 with MSC Virtuosa repositioning to the western Mediterranean.
The 5,714-passenger MSC Meraviglia will operate 19 voyages ranging from six to 14 nights, visiting new destinations including Ibiza, Gibraltar and Moroccan port Tangier.
Last month Antonio Paradiso, MSC Cruises international sales vice president, told TTG the line was considering removing so-called "taster" cruises from its ex-UK programme in the summer.
Confirming MSC's 2027 ex-UK summer programme on Monday (6 October), Paradiso said: "Customers have told us that they want longer sailings, so we are offering six to 14 night holidays visiting new destinations, as well as favourite destinations in the Mediterranean and Norwegian Fjords.
“We want to give our customers new experiences, so it’s wonderful that MSC Meraviglia is sailing from the UK in summer 2027."
The 6,334-passenger MSC Virtuosa has spent the last four years sailing out of Southampton every summer after making its maiden sailing from the city in 2021.
Meanwhile, next year MSC Preziosa will return to the UK next year, replacing MSC Poesia.
On Preziosa's return, Paradiso added: "On sale now, and offering increased capacity and an extended season of sailings through to 16 April 2027, this is great news for the UK market.”
