The deal with Fincantieri follows a letter of intent signed in April 2024, which has now been converted into a firm order for the NCL brand. It was part of the largest order in the line’s history.
The ships, with more than 5,100 berths, will be the biggest ever built for NCL. At 226,000 tons, they will accommodate more than 8,300 passengers and crew and are scheduled for delivery in 2030, 2032, 2034 and 2036.
They will be constructed at Fincantieri’s Monfalcone shipyard in northern Italy. Fincantieri has previously delivered two ships for the NCL brand, Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva, with Norwegian Aqua, the first unit of the Prima Plus class, set for delivery in the coming months.
Additionally, three other vessels are currently in various stages of design and construction.
