Mckechnie, who joined Princess in April 2024 as senior sales manager, will succeed Hayley Moore, who is heading to Hurtigruten.
She will report into Princess vice-president UK and Europe Eithne Williamson.
Princess said Mckechnie had played "a pivotal role" in shaping the UK team's strategic plans over the past 18 months.
"Her leadership [has] enabled sales managers to focus on strengthening individual accounts, building strategic partnerships and driving business development across the UK," said the line.
Mckechnie's more than 14-year career in travel includes eight years spent with P&O Cruises managing strategic business and e-commerce, and six years with Virgin Holidays.
"Continuing my journey with Princess Cruises is exciting, and I look forward to leading our talented sales team across UK, Ireland and Europe as we work with our agent partners to showcase our incredible cruise brand across multiple markets,” said Mckechnie. “We will continue to work in partnership to discover new ways for mutual growth.”
Williamson added: “Yasmin has been an integral member of the Princess team since joining us in 2024, consistently demonstrating strong commercial acumen and a clear vision for strengthening our brand in the UK.
"We are delighted she will now take the helm of our award-winning sales team, bringing her strategic expertise and enthusiasm to continue to elevate our trade engagement and deepen relationships with our valued partners across the UK, Ireland, and Europe."
Princess confirmed it is recruiting to backfill Mckechnie's previous senior sales manager role.
