For 2019, by-the-cabin cruises are available in 16 destinations worldwide including the Bahamas; several Caribbean islands including the British Virgin Islands, Cuba, Grenada, Guadeloupe and Martinique; Majorca and Corsica in the Mediterranean; the Seychelles, Mauritius and Maldives in the Indian Ocean; Bali and Thailand in Asia; and Tahiti in the Pacific.
Boutique bolthole at sea
With by-the-cabin you cruise onboard catamarans, which are like floating boutique hotels with the advantage of having the world’s largest swimming pool.
The catamarans have between 4 and 12 cabins and can be as large as tennis courts, so there are plenty of spaces on deck where passengers can relax, sunbathe, admire the scenery or look out for dolphins, turtles or whales. They also have airy saloons, many of which feature flat-screen TV and/or DVD entertainment centres.
These cruises follow set itineraries with short sail times, so there are plenty of opportunities to go ashore for sightseeing, shopping or dining, or to enjoy the delights of relaxing on deserted beaches. The catamaran’s shallow draft makes it easier to visit locations that are off the well-trodden tourist trail and discover lesser-known locations.
Sailing in some of the best waters in the world offers the opportunity to enjoy pristine waters to see beautiful reefs and colourful fish. The crew know the best places for snorkelling and diving, and the catamarans are kitted out with snorkelling equipment, kayaks and paddleboards.
Fresh sea air is bound to stimulate the appetite, so there’s a cook on hand to prepare meals onboard using fresh, local ingredients. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the price of the charter, and drinks with meals are included in many destinations. The menu could even include the freshest of fish caught by the crew off the side of the yacht.
You can even combine by-the-cabin cruises with land-based hotel stays to create a unique holiday experience.
