For customers looking to stay close to home this spring or summer, Northern Ireland promises a familiar yet exhilarating holiday, packed with unforgettable experiences. It’s also the perfect suggestion for those keen to add an easy, close to home, short break to their 2022 travel plans.

Unique experiences

It’s easy to combine city, coast and countryside with epic and hassle-free itineraries that take in the most dazzling spots across Northern Ireland. One of the most famous is the Causeway Coastal Route with beauty that captures castles, ancient ruins and welcoming towns from Belfast to Derry~Londonderry. Clients can spot seals, dolphins and puffins as they scale the dramatic Gobbins cliff path and they will be immersed in rugged landscapes and lush greenery as they head towards the Giant’s Causeway.

Make the most of the spring and summer weather at the golden sandy beaches. Tuck into ice creams and fish and chips in the charming seaside towns of Portrush and Portstewart and wander among ancient dunes and rare orchids at White Park Bay.

Visitors can also experience a host of world-class attractions. Among the newcomers for 2022 is a temporary 10km immersive solar system sculpture trail in Derry~Londonderry, opening in April. From June, Belfast’s historic Titanic Pump-House will be transformed into a whiskey distillery and tourist attraction.

Of course there’s plenty for those wanting to see the locations behind their favourite TV shows this year, including the world’s only official Game of Thrones Studio Tour, which opened in Banbridge in February and is guaranteed to excite both passionate fans and TV buffs alike.

Head inland to County Armagh to soak up the culture and creative industries that helped it become a contender for the UK City of Culture 2025, or, catch live music shows in the city of Belfast, which has recently been awarded Unesco City of Music status.

Welcoming accommodation

Easily match visitors to accommodation that suits their travel style, where they will be greeted by big-spirited hosts with a warm and friendly welcome.

Inspire them with one of Northern Ireland’s inviting inns, cottages or cabins, or even a secluded Forest Bubble Dome at Finn Lough. Guests can venture across the 75-acre peninsula resort by kayak or bike and make memories toasting marshmallows and gazing at the stars as darkness falls.

Affordable options abound, and large international hotel brands are found in the cities and towns, as well as family-run and quirky boutique hotels – there really is something for everyone.

Selling tips

Northern Ireland uses sterling currency so shoppers do not need to worry about exchange rates or currency. They’ll delight when choosing gifts from an artisan at Derry~Londonderry’s Craft Village or snapping up fashion gems at The Linen Green, a luxury shopping village near Dungannon.

Clients can choose from a variety of transport options. Swiftly fly into Belfast’s two airports or the City of Derry airport, or take an enjoyable journey by sea, with a car or as a foot passenger, into Belfast or Larne. There are no passport or visa requirements for visitors from Great Britain, making the journey a breeze.

In addition, there are no testing or quarantine travel requirements*. Clients can look out for the “We’re Good to Go” accredited hospitality and tourism providers across Northern Ireland, reassuring them that all the required Covid-19 safety requirements are in place.
