The former group boss of Wonderfield will replace Nick Longman, who moves to a senior advisor role at the upmarket tour operator following seven years in the top job.
“I’d like to thank Nick for his hard work and dedication during his time as chief executive,” said Richard Prosser, chairman at Audley Travel. “He leaves the business in extremely good shape and with 2025 being our most successful and profitable year to date.
"I’m grateful that Nick has agreed to stay on as a senior advisor, as with nearly 30 years of experience in travel he can continue to add real value to the business.”
The news comes less than a month after Audley revealed it was expanding its trade team with a third field-based role.
Prosser went on to hail Hodgson’s “exceptional track record of building high performance teams” and “driving growth”, adding that “it is now the right time to pass the reins to a new chief executive".
These views were echoed by Hodgson, who said he’s “very much looking forward to leading Audley Travel through its next phase of growth".
