The 24-room hotel is set within the 16th-century Palazzo Papadopoli on the Grand Canal and will be taking guests again from 18 June.

Amanemu in Japan and Amangani in the US have announced they will open 1 June; Amanjiwo in Indonesia and Amansara reopen in Cambodia on 15 June; Aman Tokyo opens on 16 June; Amanzoe in Greece, Aman Sveti Stefan and Amanruya in Turkey will open on 18 June; and Amanpulo opens on 26 June.

The company’s first ever hotel, Amanpuri, has said it will reopen in Phuket on 1 July.

Meanwhile, the latest addition to the group, Camp Sarika – a new tented camp that was due to be soft launched in March – is now planning to open on 1 July at Amangiri in Utah, a remote resort which has been open since earlier in May.

Properties in Kyoto, Vietnam and China are also already open.

In readiness for all reopenings, Aman said it has created detailed standard operating procedures for the hotels to work from, “in addition to following local government guidelines”. Some measures taken at Amangiri for example include reducing an already low room count by skipping a key and limiting private activities to five individuals, while buyouts of Camp Sarika are also possible if only using six-ten tents in order to ensure a total private experience.

The group added that many factors inherent in the brand already would make it “a blueprint for the future of travel” .

“In numerous ways, our generosity of space and efforts to slow down time, have always been firmly ingrained in our brand DNA, from the architecture and design of standalone pavilions with private pools, to the low room count and subtle service which now makes us a blueprint for the future of travel,” said Greg Ward, Aman’s head of global sales and distribution.

He also paid tribute to the role the trade have played and will continue to play as the world gradually begins to travel again.

“As we adapt in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic and reopen those properties which were temporarily closed, we are delighted to work with our esteemed partners who have been a great source of support during this unprecedented time,” Ward said.

“We know how important the travel trade is to our business, as we move towards a brighter future, and we will continue to keep our network informed on the updates across our portfolio, including our hideaway retreats, new private dining experiences which take advantage of our outdoor spaces, wellness immersions and activities immersed in nature,” Ward added. “We want our travel partners to feel safe in the knowledge that guests will find their sanctuary, and a sense of calm and familiarity in our places of peace.”

Among many other measures implemented at resorts are wellness and temperature checks of all staff prior to shift; setting of tables only after guests have sat down; no buffet arrangements; pairing down menus to minimize the need for density of staff in the kitchen; tables in public spaces and restaurants to be 6ft apart; emphasis on private dining and outdoor dining; and PPE for all housekeeping and kitchen staff.
