Carrier shared details about its upcoming Retreat during its A-List awards ceremony at Bafta in London, following the success of the inaugural trip last May.
The luxury tour operator announced it would be hosting 30 agent partners at Forte Village in Sardinia for the intensive week this June, with invitations scheduled for delivery next week.
Its first Retreat, held at Grecotel Corfu Imperial in Greece last May, was described as a “carefully choreographed agenda that combined meaningful business content, with quality relaxation time”.
Workshops were run by Sinead Healy, founder of Marmalade Development, who will also be overseeing the brand’s new ‘Alchemy’, a business accelerator course for agents.
As well as the Retreat, Carrier will run a series of exclusive fam trips in 2025, starting with Cambodia in June. There will also be a trip to Morocco in September, Saint Lucia in October and Abu Dhabi in November. Other fam trip opportunities include a visit to Montana in December, as well as a “self-drive” itinerary to Sicily in October, a first for Carrier.
“We tend to visit just one or two properties in each destination,” Lee Marshall, head of trade partnerships at Carrier, told TTG Luxury.
“We want to make sure that people have got time and space to really see the product. This isn’t a ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ type of trip. These are elevated trips where you have the space to experience the destination like a client.”
Carrier returned to Bafta’s prestigious Piccadilly address for its annual awards ceremony last night, where it celebrated valued partners from across the UK.
In total, 30 winners were crowned, with Luxury Travel Designer of the Year going to Jen Lonergan, founder of The Luxury Traveller.
More Travel was named Luxury High Street Agent of the Year, and Luxury Agent of the Year - South West went to Future Travel Group UK. Dan Salmon, managing director of Never A Wasted Journey, took home the prize for Luxury Travel Designer of the Year for London.
Meanwhile, Travelwise scooped up a double win, taking both Booking of the Year and Luxury Retail Agent of the Year.
Carrier also introduced a new category for Outstanding Achievement, to recognise exceptional sales in 2024. Winners of this accolade included American Express, 360 Private Travel and Kuoni.
Prizes also went to Amanda Adshead of Park Lane Travel, Sara Greene of Travel Counsellors, Helen Thomas of Luxury Travel Studio, Dani Jewell of Swords Travel Jersey, Kate Hales of Hot Chilli Travel, Maureen McKenna of McKenna Travel, Kate McGregor of Fox Private Travel and Sarah Brincat of Professionals Travel.
In addition, Carrier recognised two of its own employees at the event, awarding Andy Tart of the agency sales’ team as “Unsung Hero”, and luxury travel designer Andrea Redwood for her long service to Carrier.
