The Vestige Collection has officially opened Santa Ana, marking the latest addition to the luxury hotel brand’s portfolio of unique sites across Spain.

Situated on Menorca’s southern coast, the property has been transformed from an agricultural estate into a six-bedroom country house available for exclusive private rental.

Its launch is likely to attract more tourists to the Mediterranean destination which, despite being a haven for sun and sand, has long been the lesser-known of the Balearic Islands. In 2023, Menorca only counted around 1.5 million visitors, a small fraction of the 10 million or 3.5 million travelling to the sister islands of Majorca and Ibiza, respectively.

Vestige says it is determined to shift this imbalance, highlighting the island’s potential as a hotspot for nature and wellbeing holidays.

“Menorca is still one of the Balearic Islands’ best-kept secrets, with a very high entry threshold for tourism,” Marta Madera, co-founder and head of marketing at the Vestige Collection, tells TTG Luxury.

Its relaxed vibe is partially attributed to the government’s strict development laws, which have made it more difficult for larger hotel brands to expand on the island. “Prohibition of constructing new buildings means we must work with what already exists, emphasising restoration, regeneration and conservation,” Madera explains.

Fortunately for Vestige, conservation is at the heart of its entire collection. The family-owned business has been proudly restoring historic properties since 2009, with its first project, a 16th-century palace in Asturias, taking 11 years to complete.

Its debut hotel, Vestige Son Vell, was another labour of love with a lengthy timeline. Also located in Menorca, the 18th-century manor has held onto much of its original grandeur, thanks to a detailed four-year restoration process led by an expert team of historians and artists.

Santa Ana echoes this philosophy of regeneration, paying homage to the 210-hectare estate’s heritage without compromising on luxury.

A rustic theme is evident throughout the interior spaces, where ancient wooden beams, textiles of jute and raffia, limestone walls and terracotta tiles pay tribute to the area’s natural environment. The stone that surrounds the estate has also been carved to capture the natural path of rainwater and channel it after a storm’s downfall, while trees have been planted to encourage biodiversity and the organic rhythm of wildlife.

Inside, guests can expect a wide range of communal areas, including a gym, a lounge, a TV room, a library and a dining room. Al fresco living is central to the Santa Ana experience, with a patio kitchen, a fire pit and a lush garden encouraging visitors to embrace the island’s mild climate. The property is also within walking distance of Menorca’s best beaches, Cala Macarella (where guests can enjoy private access) and Cala Macarelleta.

Guests can book the entire house for £2,880 per night, with a minimum stay of 3 nights. The rental includes many services found in hotels, including housekeeping, complimentary breakfast and 24/7 concierge. Fitness classes, childcare and a private chef is all available on request.

Madera also teases plans to further expand the Vestige Collection in Menorca, revealing its intentions to launch “a collection of beautiful estates on the island that haven’t yet undergone the restoration process”.
