It comes after Cox & Kings UK earlier this month engaged KPMG to find a buyer amid concerns over the finances of its Indian parent.

According to A&K, its proposal will safeguard all current and future bookings, as well as the roles of Cox & Kings UK staff, and bring fresh investment to the business.

A&K believes the two brands are complementary and would created a strong combined proposition in the UK luxury travel market, owing to Cox & Kings UK’s “loyal client database” and “excellent product portfolio”.

Geoffrey Kent, A&K founder and co-chairman, said: “I’m excited at the prospect of adding the Cox & Kings UK business to the Abercrombie & Kent family. The acquisition will expand our portfolio of product offerings in the UK, particularly with their established escorted touring programme. This is just the start of our growth plans in the UK and globally.”
