Abta has postponed its Travel Matters conference next week due to impending nationwide rail strikes.

Former home secretary Amber Rudd had been due to give the seminar’s keynote address

The annual seminar, which focuses on current affairs and legislative issues facing the travel sector, had been set to take place in London on Wednesday (22 June).

Train strikes are planned for Tuesday (21 June), Thursday (23 June) and Saturday (25 June) next week, with passengers also warned not to travel on other days due to heavily reduced services.

An Abta spokesperson said the association did not yet have an alternative date confirmed, but adding a rescheduled event was likely to be towards the end of the year.
