Advantage Business Travel has enrolled its first intake of apprentices.
The independent travel agent group said three new recruits will undergo the Pathway to Business Travel Professional training programme in partnership with Travilearn.
Starting in January 2020, the programme includes a mix of on-the-job experience and e-learning modules to earn a diploma.
It has been customised for business travel, focussing on job roles such as operations, support services, sales and account management across a spectrum of suppliers, including airlines and hotel groups.
“We are very much looking forward to seeing the trainees blossom as they progress through the training modules,“ said Neil Armorgie, global product director at Advantage.
An announcement about the new intake was announced at the Business Travel Symposium today (22 November).
Karen McKenna, Travilearn’s managing director, said: “Leaders across many UK business sectors have seen the long-term benefits apprenticeships bring – including increased productivity, improved attraction and retention of skilled staff and overall improvement in organisational performance.”
