The trade showcase for the ship, which launched in November 2022, came ahead of the vessel’s maiden voyage around Ireland and Scotland before its journey to the European Arctic to spend early summer exploring Svalbard.
In late July, Sylvia Earle will sail from Greenland along the Northwest Passage, where the vessel will be based for the remaining summer.
The Dublin event capped off a week of ship visits for the line with Sylvia Earle’s sister vessel, Greg Mortimer, also shown to the trade.
Greg Mortimer is the first passenger ship to feature X-Bow technology, while Sylvia Earle features a predominantly glass X-Bow, offering guests views of the horizon from the front of the ship.
The line’s team welcomed more than 30 agents onboard during the visits in Portsmouth, Aberdeen and Dublin.
Jos Dewing, AE Expeditions managing director EMEA, said the Dublin visit was “a perfect opportunity” to showcase the “ground-breaking design and environmental credential” of the line’s latest vessel.
During the visits, agents were able to learn more about the ships’ Citizen Science Centre and Aurora’s commitment to ocean conservation.
Dewing added: “We hugely value our trade partners and having the opportunity to welcome some of them onboard, and introduce them to members of the expedition team, are vital elements in appreciating the uniqueness of the ship and the experience of being an Aurora passenger.”
