Indaba had to be cancelled in both 2020 and 2021 but the trade show is scheduled to make its return on 2-5 May 2022 at Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban.
Another trade event Meetings Africa, which was last held in February 2020, will also return next year when it will be held on 28 February-2 March at Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.
Two of Africa’s leading trade shows, Meetings Africa and Travel Indaba, will return in 2022 and below we share a press release about these details.
The announcement comes as South Africa has recorded a “significant” drop in new Covid infections and the country aims to have 70% of adults vaccinated by the end of this year.
Sthembiso Dlamini, acting chief executive of South African Tourism, said: “The need for physical events and face-to-face encounters is evident in both the industry and the public.
“The experiences over the last months have shown that on-location events can take place safely and successfully and demonstrate how important they are for dialogue and exchange.”
