A travel agent is “elated” to have been made a dignitary for his local town.
Ken Garrity, of Ken Garrity Travel, was appointed Provost (effectively mayor) of Altrincham, Greater Manchester, last week – a role he will hold for the next year.
He told TTG he was aiming to “boost the name of Altrincham in the UK” and when asked whether he thought the role would be good for business, the homeworker laughed: “All publicity is good publicity.”
