The scheme, launched in March and featuring Reggae Reggae Sauce entrepreneur Levi Roots among the judging panel, sees agents bringing their business idea pitches to Royal in a bid to win a share of £200,000.
The latest round of pitching came to a close last week with all five finalists – Fahy Travel, Delmar World Travel, Club Voyages, All Aboard Ship Ahoy and Cruise Holidays UK – each receiving a share of £34,000.
Propositions ranged from in-store and onboard events, to community radio station partnerships and content creation plans.
Stuart Byron, Royal Caribbean International’s director of sales UK, Ireland and Spain, said the latest round of pitching had been “competitive” with “strong ideas making it through to the judging stage”.
“The other judges and I felt that all the agents who presented to us merited investment at some level and we were impressed by the creativity and originality of the propositions,” said Byron.
“I’m eager to see what the final round of the Royal Pitch brings, now that entries have reopened. We still have a large share of investment set aside for the top ideas.”
The next round of entries opened on Monday (12 December) and agents have until 30 January to submit their creative proposals. The final round of judging will take place in the following weeks.
To enter, agents need to submit a video via the line’s Club Royal platform detailing their creative business proposal and requested investment in under five minutes.
