Two unions representing the airline’s pilots are due to strike from June 11-14 in a dispute over pay and working conditions.
Air France has yet to give any details on how flights will be affected by the strike but said it “deplored” the industrial action and that it threatened to stop the company’s “positive momentum”. Talks are scheduled with unions early this week to try to avert the action.
Air France chief executive Frederic Gagey insisted that football fans would still be able to get to games around France by using cars or trains if necessary.
The latest move comes after an air traffic controller strike in France caused flights to be cancelled last week, although a longer ATC stoppage over the weekend was abandoned at the last minute.
Strikes have been held across France in recent weeks as workers continue to protest about the government’s plan to change labour laws.
In a separate dispute, Air France cabin crew have also voted to go on strike between July 27 and August 2 over a new work and compensation contract that is due to come into effect in November.
