New Zealand’s flag carrier engaged Discover the World as its GSA partner in July, appointing Christine Sutton – formerly of STA Travel and Emirates – senior sales manager UK and Ireland.
Discover the World has previously represented Air New Zealand in Latin America and select south-east Asian markets, but has now extended its partnership to place a "particular focus" on the "strategically important" UK and German DACH – Germany, Austria and Switzerland – markets.
Aiden Walsh, Discover the World head of airline development and partnerships, said the GSA was "looking forward to working with trade partners on developing passenger sales" now that New Zealand’s borders have fully reopened.
Sutton, meanwhile, said agents had been pleased to see the airline represented again on the ground. “It has been a phenomenal start so far," she said.
"The travel trade has been really excited to have local contacts in the market again. We are looking forward to working with the trade to keep them updated on the Air New Zealand products and activities."
Aaron Gilden, Air New Zealand head of sales SSEA, UK and EU, added: “Air New Zealand is excited to be extending our partnership with Discover the World. It was vital for us to choose a partner that could represent our brand values and deliver a premium service to our trade partners."
