The Met Office has warned of “heavy snow showers”. A spokesperson added that “delays and cancellations to rail and air travel are likely”, Sky News reported.
Stansted Airport tweeted to warn passengers to expect “adverse weather conditions”, with passengers “reminded to check the latest status of their flight with the airline before travelling to the airport”.
Meanwhile British Airways issued a statement on its website warning that the weather conditions were forecast to affect some of its short-haul and domestic flights.
It added that it had “proactively cancelled some services” and would be re-booking customers on to alternative flights or offering full refunds.
