An extra 1,500 hotels across 22 destinations have gone on sale for Brits for summer 2024 following “strong bookings across all seasons”.
The new properties – featuring heavily in Greece, the Canaries and the Balearics - come as Tui reported a return to “normal booking patterns” in January.
Tui has also reported an uptick in bookings to Morocco and Tunisia, while family resorts have “sold particularly well” for next summer as customers lock in prices for their board choice and spread costs.
While all-inclusive bookings lead the way, Tui said it had also seen “a slight increase” in self-catering product booked for this summer - particularly from customers in Yorkshire, Cardiff and Glasgow – accounting for around 7% of bookings.
Amid the cost of living crunch, Tui reported customers opting for shorter stays, rather than downgrading on hotels, with four- and five-star properties the most popular booked across the UK. Tui said customers were mostly choosing 10- and 11-night stays instead of 14-night breaks.
For shorter breaks, Tui reported Barcelona, Rome, Amsterdam and Krakow “really standing” among its most as popular city destinations.
Andrew Flintham, Tui’s UK and Ireland managing director, said its increase in hotel capacity for summer 2024 was “testament to positive bookings we’ve seen across seasons”.
“Appetite to travel is stronger than ever and we are continually focussed on offering our customers more flexibility and choice than any other provider,” he said.
