Alton Towers has suffered more problems when a ride broke down, leaving customers dangling upside down 40 feet in the air.
Problems occurred on bank holiday Monday on the Air Galactica ride, which only opened in March and uses virtual reality headsets.
The ride ground to a halt shortly after starting with the problem blamed on heavy rain in the area, which obscured a sensor.
Customers were left hanging upside down between 30ft and 40ft in the air for about 20 minutes before staff were able to climb up and reassure them.
The ride was then restarted, bringing everyone safely down.
The incident comes two weeks after the theme park’s owners, Merlin Entertainments, were warned they face a multi-million pound fine after admitting breaching health and safety legislation last summer in a crash on the Smiler ride which left five people seriously injured in June 2015.
