Amadeus River Cruises is to expand its fleet next year with a new five-star ship, Amadeus Star, writes Elisha Atikinson.
The vessel will be the 16th ship to join the company, and will sail on the Danube, Rhine and Main, as well as on the waterways of Holland and Belgium.
The new ship will feature 70 deluxe cabins and 12 Amadeus Suites. Certain cabins will feature the lowerable panoramic windows found on other Amadeus ships while others will have external balconies.
Amadeus Star will also feature a sun deck, an Amadeus Club bar, a River Terrace viewing deck, and a Panorama Bar where musicians will perform daily.
“The launch of the Amadeus Star follows a period of successful sustainable growth for Amadeus and represents our commitment to setting new, world-class standards in European river cruising,” said Natalie O’Mahoney, head of UK sales for Amadeus River Cruises.
The announcement of the Amadeus Star follows the addition of a new ship in both 2017 and 2018.
Its first voyage, the seven-night Tulip Serenade, will depart from Amsterdam on April 12, 2019 with prices from £1,349 per person including flights from London.
