The new vessel, which will enter service on the Danube in 2019, will carry 194 guests in 98 standard rooms, four suites and one Ama Owner’s luxury suite. Standard cabins will be more than 300 square feet, claimed to be “some of the largest in river cruising”.
The ship will claim a first for river cruising with an open-water sports platform, complete with zodiac boats, canoes and recreational equipment.
Multiple dining options will include an al fresco glass-enclosed restaurant, more onboard activities and enhanced evening entertainment. The ship will debut a quieter and more fuel-efficient engine.
“While this new double-width concept has been on the table for some time, we believe, given the unique demand that exists, that now is the perfect time to introduce this style of ship,” said Rudi Schreiner, president and co-owner of AmaWaterways, who described AmaMagna as “a game-changer”.
