Two new pools, swim-up rooms and rooms “refurbished to fit the Thomson Sensatori specifications” will all be added to Sensatori Resort Aphrodite Hills as part of a multi-million pound winter refurbishment.
Following the deal, which was completed yesterday, Thomson has confirmed that the property will operate its first season as Sensatori from May to October 2015 before being featured as part of the Thomson A La Carte collection for winter 2015-16.
However, the former InterContinental property will be closed for the forthcoming winter from November 6 to allow the changes to be instigated. On reopening the hotel will be operated by the Atlantica Group with which Thomson has its deal.
A spokesman added that the entire property will be exclusive to Thomson in the summer season.
Sensatori Resort Aphrodite Hills is the third property to the Thomson Sensatori portfolio for May 2015, alongside Sensatori resorts Ibiza and Fethiye, bringing the total number available to nine.
Mark Hall, director of product for Thomson and First Choice, said: “We are continuing to invest in improving our range of concept hotels, a trend which is actually accelerating, with a record level of investment set to be ploughed into our Sensatori resorts for summer 2015.
“By building on the fantastic existing infrastructure, we plan to bring the resorts on par with the unique 5T luxurious holiday experience our customers expect.”
