The South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC) and Tourism Western Australia (TWA) have joined forces to highlight a selection of new holidays designed to attract UK travellers who are looking for "immersive wildlife experiences".
The new itineraries, which are set to launch in time for January 2023, feature Australia’s big five – the koala, the quokka, the whale shark, the echidna and the kangaroo.
Each new trip includes opportunities for guests to experience up close encounters with native species in their natural habitats, curated by local guides. Accommodation options include luxury lodges, tented camps, boutique hotels and winery sleepovers.
Tour operator partners include Audley Travel, Wexas and Elegant Resorts, and outdoor expert, author and presenter Ray Mears will front a series of five videos promoting the new safari itineraries.
The new itineraries feature the Ocean to Outback Safari trip, which includes calls in Perth, Ningaloo Reef, Adelaide and the Flinders Ranges. The Island Safari trip features stops in Adelaide, Kangaroo Island, Perth and Rottnest Island.
Janice Kurrle, regional manager UK and Europe for SATC, said: "Safaris have always been associated with Africa, yet these new itineraries spanning South Australia and Western Australia highlight the amazing opportunity to enjoy an immersive Aussie safari experience."
