The Avis Grand Competition is open to all agents in the UK and Ireland, who are asked to answer four questions about selling car hire – and name their favourite road trip song – to be in with a chance of winning the £1,000 prize. To enter, agents must visit the competition page here
“We are constantly looking at ways to enhance our offering to the trade and want to ensure we are always developing our service and support,” said Sophie Nelson, international travel and partnerships manager. “During the duration of the competition we will gather feedback and insight to help understand what agents really want from us.”
It’s the second time the brand has run its Avis Grand Competition with TTG, and Nelson said she is keen to hear “honest feedback” from agents.
“At Avis a key focus is to support and grow our partnerships within the UK and Irish trade - we see this sector as a key growth area,” she said. “We understand the importance of working with the travel trade. As itineraries become more and more complex with multiple components, a professional managing the trip can make the trip easier. It’s not just to pick up the pieces when something goes wrong; they’ll listen to the customer and build an authentic holiday to really experience the destination.”
In 2022 Avis expanded its dedicated trade team and launched its QuickPass product, which enables customers to speed up the collection and return process of their hire car. “It’s a great example of how we are continually investing in our services for agents’ customers,” Nelson added.
Last year the brand also ran a fam trip to Norway in partnership with TTG, as one of the TTG Sustainable Travel Heroes. “We’d like to build on the success of this to help agents experience the latest car hire services, as well as showcase our sustainable travel initiatives,” Nelson continued.
Explaining why Avis chose to partner with TTG for the competition, Nelson explained: “We share TTG’s ethos for a fairer, smarter, and better travel industry and as a leading global transportation provider, we promise to support the transition to a low-carbon economy and employ practices that promote a more fair, just, and equal workplace and community.”
