The move comes due to "the evolving nature of the Covid-19 pandemic".
Under guidance issued by the island’s Ministry of Health and Wellness, the national curfew will run between 9pm and 5am through Monday to Saturday and 6pm to 5am on Sundays.
During the curfew, no gatherings are allowed and restaurants can only operate until 8:30pm. Fast-food outlets will only be allowed to do delivery or drive through.
A spokesperson for the authority said: "During this time, please be advised businesses’ opening hours may change. The Government of Barbados continues to work closely with both private and public sector entities to ensure necessary operations continue safely and efficiently."
