Speaking as part of a mergers and acquisitions panel, Martin Robinson the former chairman of Center Parcs UK, said there were warning signs out in the market and that the current state of affairs would not last forever.
“I’d rather be selling than buying at the moment,” he told delegates. Robinson also urged business owners to be careful when dealing with private equity companies “Private equity buyers are sorting themselves into different segments,” he said.
Giants such as Blackstone are at the top with small specialist firms at the bottom. “The people in the middle are the ones you’ve got to be careful with,” he added. Also speaking on the panel were Jason Katz, founding partner of Kings Park Capital and Deborah Potts director of Summit Advisory.
The session was moderated by TTG Media managing director Daniel Pearce.
