Operational enhancements for Terminal 8 include five widebody gates, four widebody parking positions, and an “expanded and upgraded” baggage handling system.
The terminal has also been expanded with approximately 130,000 sq/ft of additional and refurbished space.
Customers traveling in premium cabins on both airlines will be able to use a new co-branded check-in area with concierge-style service, and once through security, the terminal offers three lounges.
Terminal 8, which marks the first phase of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s $400 million redevelopment of JFK, will become home to five oneworld carriers, with Iberia set to start operations this week and Japan Airlines in May 2023.
