The four-times-weekly flight ends on September 9

Then airline has been operating the route four times a week with prices leading in at £299 return in economy.

However, the airline has now confirmed the last flight would be run on 9 September, adding that the region would still be well served by the airline.

A spokesperson added: “We regularly review our schedule to ensure that we are flying to destinations that are popular with our customers.

“Through our partnership with American Airlines, we already fly 28 times a week to nearby Miami airport and from October 2019 our customers will have even more flights to choose from on this route.”
