BA currently flies to Beijing Capital International airport but will fly instead to Daxing from 27 October this year.
The airline confirmed the move in a statement posted to its website this week, and via Chinese social media giant and messaging service WeChat.
“With a massive 52,000 square metres available for retail, food and beverage, and service, facilities at Beijing Daxing for British Airways customers will include more than 300 shops and restaurants, and for those eligible, access to a brand-new partner lounge,” said BA.
Daxing is about 50km from Beijing city centre and 80km from Tianjin, China’s fifth largest city.
