Visit Barbados has welcomed the move and said it would offer an additional 3,000 BA seats to Bridgetown this winter, increasing connectivity options for UK holidaymakers, business travellers and residents.
Bridgetown is currently served by two BA flights, one from Heathrow and another from Gatwick. BA will add a second flight from Heathrow, though, in December and January.
It means BA will now fly to Bridgetown on 11 and 12 December, 18 and 19 December, 26 and 27 December, 2 and 3 January, and 8 and 9 January.
Cheryl Carter, Barbados Tourism Marketing interim global head of markets, said: “Barbados is delighted with the news that British Airways will increase its service from London Heathrow to Bridgetown for December and January 2022.
"Winter is peak season in Barbados, with temperatures reaching highs of 29C. This new flight will allow even more UK travellers to enjoy some winter sun and experience our beautiful island.”
