British passenger dies onboard Heathrow flight hit by 'severe turbulence'

A Singapore Airlines Boeing 777 was involved in the fatal incident

The Singapore Airlines flight was diverted to Bangkok following the incident, which occurred just before 8am UK time.

Officials have confirmed a 73-year-old UK man died “likely due to a heart attack”, while seven of the 30 casualties suffered critical head injuries.

One passenger, Andrew, told the BBC the turbulence lasted only “two or three seconds”. “It was only when I looked behind me I realised the severity,” he said. “There were a lot of injured people, a lot of scared people too.”
