Both Ryanair and Wizz Air reported improved load factors in June even as passenger numbers rise to their highest levels for more than two years.
Ryanair carried 15.9 million passengers in June on a load factor of 95%. This is up from 15.4 million in May when the load factor was 92%.
In May, Ryanair’s monthly carryings broke 15 million for the first time since the onset of Covid-19. Its June figure is up from 5.3 million during the same period a year ago.
Wizz, meanwhile, carried 4.34 million passengers in June on a load factor of 86.1%. This is up from the 4.12 million it carried in June, when load factor was 84.2%.
The Hungarian carrier last June carried 1.56 million passengers. Load factor then was 64%.
