Blue Air was forced to suspend operations earlier this week owing to a dispute with Romania’s environment ministry, which has seen its bank accounts frozen.
According to the Blue Air website, the airline currently operates in the UK and Ireland to and from Heathrow, Luton, Birmingham, Liverpool and Dublin.
Wizz Air on Wednesday (7 September) said Blue Air passengers affected by the suspension would be able to book Wizz rescue fares for €49.99pp using their Blue Air booking reference.
Wizz also plans to base an additional five aircraft in Bucharest to launch new routes to Athens, Prague and Larnaca in December.
It will also increase capacity on flights to the Romanian cities of Bacau, Cluj-Napoca, Iasi and Sibiu.
Ryanair, meanwhile, is offering £49.99pp Blue Air rescue fares on Cluj-London, Bucharest-London and Bucharest-Dublin routes, as well as several other European routes.
The fares are available for travel until 31 October and must be booked by midnight on Friday (9 September).
