According to the regulator, 74% of the 3,502 people polled in Autumn consider Atol protection to be more important since the onset of the pandemic.
Michael Budge, head of Atol for the CAA, urged travellers to "make smart decisions" for their holidays by booking Atol-protected trips.
"With many travellers considering Atol protection more important since the pandemic, we want to make sure consumers are aware of the financial protection that Atol provides," he added.
