Carnival Mardi Gras answered a US Coast Guard call in the early hours of Monday (7 August) while on a eight-day cruise across the Caribbean.
The ship’s officers made the rescue just after 1am as the stranded sailboat was less than nine miles from it. Once onboard, the man of the couple was taken to the medical centre where his conditions are currently being checked by the medical personnel.
Nevertheless, Mardi Gras has continued its sailing unaffected and is due to arrive in Aruba on Tuesday (8 August).
