The Celebrity Discovery Collection currently features four tours across the Western Mediterranean, with more being added globally throughout the year.
Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, Celebrity Cruises president and chief executive said her own recent holiday to the region had acted as inspiration for the collection, which the line explained had been “designed with both the seasoned wanderer and new-to-cruise in mind”.
“We were so inspired by the many hidden gems we were exposed to during our time exploring this stunning region, and wanted to offer our guests these truly unique, behind-the-scenes, exclusive experiences; and thus the Celebrity Discovery Collection was born,” Lutoff-Perlo added.
Each tour features a maximum of 24 guests.
Celebrity’s A French Day Experience in Nice and St. Paul de Vence excursion, allows guests the opportunity to explore the 17th century underground vault and wine shop in Old Nice before stopping at Michelin-starred restaurant La Colle-sur-Loup for lunch, and concluding in the medieval town of St. Paul de Vence.
Food lovers can also embark on the line’s Italian Pasta Experience during which guests will tour the Martelli pasta factory in Tuscany, followed by a pasta-making demonstration.
Musically-inclined guests will be given the chance to attend a live concert of medieval music at Barcelona’s Basílica de Santa Maria del Pi.
Those looking to enjoy a quieter break can take advantage of Celebrity’s Valldemossa and Exclusive Lunch in Deia tour, as part of which guests explore the countryside before a private piano concert and a visit to the La Cartuja monastery.
