CV Villas has hired former Barbados Tourism senior business development officer Marc McCollin as its new Caribbean expert following a spike in bookings for the region.
McCollin, who moved back to Barbados earlier this year, brings two decades’ marketing and hospitality experience to the role with the villa specialist, including a stint as executive director of Intimate Hotels of Barbados.
In his new role, McCollin will cover all Caribbean islands through a contact rep phone service. His appointment comes after CV Villas saw year-to-date bookings for Barbados increase by nearly 50% compared with 2019 levels.
Other trends observed by CV Villas include more small-group and couples bookings for villa stays; it has added a selection of new Barbados properties for 2022 to meet demand, including Villa Onyx and Villa Greensleeves.
McCollin said he was looking forward to supporting agents’ clients in-resort. "Working for Barbados Tourism Marketing for the past seven years has provided me with unparalleled relationships with key stakeholders in the Caribbean market, which I look forward to bringing to CV Villas," said McCollin.
"With a selection of new villas added to its portfolio this year, my goal is to grow CV Villas portfolio within the Caribbean in the next few years and ultimately position them as a key player in the Caribbean."
