Across 14 categories, the awards – which will take place on 4 March at Rosewood London – will celebrate the efforts of individuals and businesses working across the luxury sector to weather the pandemic, evolve their business and emerge stronger.
The awards were established in 2017 and were the first multi-sector industry awards for the UK’s luxury travel industry.
Those entering the awards this year will be asked to share how they are running a Smarter, Better, Fairer business, in line with TTG Media’s own purpose.
Given the impact of the Covid-19 crisis, entrants are asked to look beyond sales and growth to focus on how they support customers, how they build and maintain relationships with industry partners and local communities, how they have shown resolve, resilience and steel over the past year, and how they achieve inclusivity and make their brand and products accessible to all.
“The industry has responded overwhelmingly to the awards, but we know how much pressure people are under right now, especially given all the recent changes in travel requirements and testing,” said April Hutchinson, editor of TTG Luxury. “This deadline revision until Friday 17 December will give people that breathing space to work on an entry that really tells us their story of resilience and brilliance.”
All entrants must complete an online form sharing their stories, and for the first time, supplier categories will now be judged by expert judging panels drawn from the highest levels of the industry, including two respected and experienced luxury travel agents on every panel.
There are six supplier categories open for entry and covering all key areas of service and product delivery.
There are now six agent categories, including the new category of Luxury Cruise Agent of the year (individual), created to recognise the tremendous hard work and focus of individual consultants who put a great deal of energy into the cruise market.
This year there are also two special categories, including the new category of Sustainability Hero of the Year (individual).
This important award can be entered by anyone currently working in luxury travel, whether an agent or supplier, and will be given to an individual, someone seen to be really driving change in the sector.
The 2022 recipient of Contribution to Luxury Travel will also be announced on the day of the awards, during the glittering lunchtime event at Rosewood London.
