The daily service was last operated in 2015 and forms part of the US carrier’s largest-ever summer transatlantic schedule.
Flights will depart Heathrow at 4.20pm, arriving at LAX at 7.50pm. Returns depart LA at 8.25pm, arriving in London at 2.50pm the following day.
It is one of eight non-stop services Delta will operate from Heathrow this summer, with onward connections available to Hawaii, Las Vegas and Portland, among others.
Delta, which debuted at Heathrow in 2008, said the route would complement its transatlantic partner Virgin Atlantic’s three daily LAX services from Heathrow.
Together, they will operate up to 278 weekly services between the UK and US at peak times this summer.
