Disney Treasure – the second of three new-builds the line has on order – will be delivered in 2024, sister to Disney Wish.

A third Wish-class ship is slated for 2025. All three feature 1,254 guest staterooms and are powered by liquefied natural gas.

The additions will grow Disney’s fleet to seven.

Treasure was unveiled at Disney’s D23 Expo at the weekend by Josh D’Amaro, chair of Disney parks, experiences and products.

D’Amaro revealed Treasure would feature a brand new motif, with the ship styled around adventure and exploration. "At the heart of every adventure, there’s a treasure," said D’Amaro.

Features include the Grand Hall, based on a grand, gilded palace which draws on real-world influences from Asia and Africa while paying homage to the land of Agrabah from Aladdin.

These themes will continue in the atrium where there will be status of Aladdin, Jasmine and Magic Carpet.

D’Amaro also detailed Disney’s plans for a second Bahamas destination – Lighthouse Point – which will be located on the island of Eleuthera.

He said Disney was working closely with Bahamian artists and advisors to create a destination "that represents the natural beauty and rich culture" of the Bahamas.

Besides the island’s beaches, facilities will include a recreation centre, dining and shopping venues, a water playground, cultural pavilion and more.

Disney has committed to developing less than 20% of the property; employ sustainable building practices; and donate more than 190 acres of land to the government. The attraction will be 90% powered by solar energy.
