Disneyland Paris has opened the world’s first hotel dedicated to Marvel art.
Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, which opened yesterday (21 June), pays tribute to the home of many Marvel superheroes and the artists who created them.
The four-star hotel is styled as a New York art gallery and features one of the largest Marvel art collections in the world, with more than 350 pieces of artwork on display created by more than 110 artists. The art spans both comics and movies, with around 50 pieces created exclusively for the hotel.
The Manhattan-style hotel is home to 471 Superior Rooms, 65 Empire State Club rooms and 25 Suites dedicated to Spider-Man, the Avengers and other Marvel superheroes. All rooms have been designed with a contemporary New York urban feel and each one features Marvel artwork.
The hotel also offers a range of activities and facilities for Marvel fans. The Marvel Design Studio is a creative space for families, where kids can learn how to be a Marvel comic book artist with tutorials that explain how to draw iconic superheroes.
At the Super Hero Station, guests can pose for selfies with Spider-Man, while at the Hero Training Zone families can enjoy sports facilities including an indoor and outdoor Metro-inspired pool, a fitness centre and an outdoor field complete with a yoga area and basketball court featuring a Marvel artwork floor.
The Marvel-inspired hotel also includes a space dedicated to temporary art exhibitions, The Jack Kirby Legacy Gallery. The area also offers a permanent exhibition dedicated to Jack Kirby – known as "The King of Comics”, with 21 comic book covers drawn by him.
The hotel’s Manhattan and Downtown restaurants, Skyline Bar and Bleeker Street Lounge all pay homage to New York through their menus and decor, with many Marvel-themed meals and drinks on offer too.
Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel is located a short walk or free shuttle away from the theme parks of Disneyland Paris.
To reduce lines and waiting time at check-in, guests can pre-register online seven days prior to their arrival and can pick up their Magic Pass at reception before heading straight to the theme parks.
