It was announced earlier today (26 September) that Doncaster Sheffield is set to close next month due to a "fundamental lack of financial viability".

Owners Peel Group said it will start to close down on 31 October after no tangible proposals were received regarding the ownership of the airport during a strategic review into its future. 

A spokesperson said airport staff will "work closely" with customers to explain the impact of the service reduction and work to minimise the disruption to operations.

East Midlands airport will hold a jobs fair on Tuesday (27 September) at The Chatsworth Arts Centre in Long Eaton, while an event for roles at Stansted will take place at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Stansted Airport on 4 October.
