Pineapple Beach Club Antigua has officially joined the Elite Island Resorts Group after its sale by Sandals Resorts International.
The 180-room resort, formerly known as the Grand Pineapple Beach Antigua, was offloaded by the operator in February.
It will trade as an adults-only all-inclusive resort in the north east of the island on Long Bay Beach and has retained all resort staff during the transition period.
Paula Whitehead, European managing director of Elite Island Resorts, said: “We are really excited about this fantastic new addition to our Caribbean resort portfolio. Pineapple Beach Club is an excellent, all-Inclusive beachfront resort located on one of the most beautiful white sand beaches on Antigua.”
At the time of the sale earlier this year, Sandals chairman Gordon “Butch” Stewart said: “We are very satisfied that our staff and loyal customers will be properly taken care of under the stewardship of Elite’s chairman, Rob Barrett.”
The Jamaican-based operator continues to run its Grand Pineapple Negril resort and remains a presence on the island with Sandals Grande Antigua.
