Finalists in The Better Journeys by AVIS Customer Service Award include an agent who travelled overseas to support a customer whose wife had passed away, another who convinced a cruise line to adapt a world cruise itinerary to enable clients to get travel insurance, as well as an agent who sourced an important prescription for a customer who had lost her medication while in Australia.

On the shortlist in The Tui Community Hero category are agents who have helped supply vital equipment for a nursery in Malawi, a high street team who fundraised for a mental health charity with a cycle challenge in memory of one of their colleague’s partners and a homeworking couple who came to the rescue to sponsor a popular fitness class for the elderly after the closure of a local sports hall.

Finalists for Intrepid Sustainable Travel Champion of the Year include an agent who has seen her business secure B Corp Certification, another company who appointed its first sustainability and impact lead to drive its environmental focus and an agency who tasked a Channel 5 newsreader to quiz suppliers on their sustainability credentials at its VIP client dinner.

Shortlisted team members for The Visit Malta Unsung Hero Award include an accounts manager championing wellbeing across her agency with mental health support training, a homeworking network’s premium support manager who received its “One Team Award” at its recent conference, as voted for by the company’s travel consultants, and a six-shop agency’s newly promoted retail director who plays a key part in her company’s local charity work.
