On Wednesday (17 August), the region suffered from heavy downpours and thunderstorms which caused flooding and impacted flights and rail services.
As a result, air traffic control restrictions were put in place. Gatwick tweeted: "Air traffic control restrictions are currently in place across the South of England and parts of Europe due to poor weather conditions. This will unfortunately cause delays and cancellations to some flights today."
Yellow and amber warnings were also put out for parts of England and Wales by the Met Office.
