Excited about Royal Caribbean’s Quantum-class ships? We toured the German shipyard where the first two are being built
As Quantum of the Seas nears completion and work continues on sister ship Anthem of the Seas, Royal Caribbean treated trade and media to a progress report.
TTG news editor Sophie Griffiths joined the tour at Meyer Werft’s Papenburg shipyard, tweeting pictures along the way…
Anthem takes shape
Due to enter service in spring 2015, Anthem of the Seas is still on the factory floor. Sparks fly in the cavernous space as the Meyer-Werft team works on the ship’s body.
Actual size
Cross-sections of the ship offer a reminder of how vast Quantum-class vessels are. Both Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas will weigh in at 167,800 tonnes and have capacity for 4,180 passengers.
