Inspire finance director Richard Buxton has assembled a group of 10 keen cyclists from across the country to take on the 127-mile cross-country ride from Whitby in north Yorkshire to Inspire HQ in Bramhall, Cheshire, in aid of Family Fund.
En route, the team will navigate elevations totalling more than 8,000 feet, and will stop off at the charity’s base in York along the way.
Inspire has been supporting Family Fund since 2013, and last year helped the charity deliver 150,000 grants for families raising disabled and seriously ill children and young people.
Joining Buxton in the saddle are Danny Schweiger, Lorna Crawford, Nick Groombridge, Fiona Ross, Mark Schweiger, Andy Bourne, Nikki Samuels, Sam Marland and Michael Ozon. They will be supported on the day by Martin Girdwood.
Other businesses supporting the effort include Smart Currency Business, IDS Indata, RPG Accountants and PT Trustees.
"We have enjoyed a very special and successful relationship with Family Fund for the past ten years and are very proud of the support we have shown to them and their beneficiaries," said Buxton.
"This challenge is about going above and beyond and pushing ourselves to the limit. I am delighted we have managed to get this great team together to help raise further funds for a charity very close to our hearts.
"With the economic climate as it is, the team will be cycling to raise much needed funds for these special families who face challenges on a daily basis, and especially now with the rising cost of living. It’s sure to be a tough ride, but we are all up for it and I am truly grateful to the team for their support."
The team has so far raised £1,680 of their £10,000 target ahead of the challenge on 19 May.
